SOCAL REGIONALS PLAYOFF BRACKET

The Long Beach City College women's soccer team received the No. 18 and final seed for the 2012 CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Vikings will travel to face conference foe and No. 15 seed East Los Angeles College on Thursday (Nov. 15) at 6 p.m. in a play-in round game.

The winner of that contest advances to Round 1 of the Southern California Regionals to face No. 2 seed College of the Canyons on Saturday (Nov. 17) at 2 p.m.

Long Beach, 11-5-4 overall, finished third in the highly competitive South Coast Conference with a 7-3-4 mark. LBCC and East Los Angeles have already played a pair of close SCC games this season. On September 25 at ELAC, the two squads played to a scoreless tie. And most recently on October 19, the Vikings pulled out a 1-0 win over the Huskies at home.

East Los Angeles enters the postseason with a 9-7-5 overall record and finished sixth in the SCC at 6-5-3.

Long Beach is making its third straight playoff appearance and has qualified for the postseason in 13 of the past 14 years. LBCC has won a California Community College record six state championships overall (1997, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2005).
