The Long Beach City College women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 South Coast Conference loss to the rival Cerritos College Falcons on Tuesday at LBCC.

The defeat dropped Long Beach to 7-5-3 overall and 6-3-0 in the SCC. The Vikings currently sit in third place in the conference standings with 18 points, trailing SCC-leading Cerritos (14-1-0, 8-1-0 SCC) with 24 points and Mt. San Antonio College at 21 points.

Long Beach played a physical first half and was able to keep the Falcons off the scoreboard in the first half despite being outshot 7-2 over the first 45 minutes.

But Cerritos needed just a minute in the second half to go ahead for good, getting a goal from Nayeli Requejo. Cerritos' Ashley Anay Webb scored the first of her two goals in the 79th minute to open the flood gates. The Falcons scored three goals over a four-minute span to blow the game open.

LBCC was outshot 12-4 for the game. Freshman goalkeeper Evelyn Fierros (Bishop Amat HS) posted four saves during the first half.

Long Beach returns to action on Friday (Oct. 31) when the Vikings travel to East Los Angeles College for a 4 p.m. SCC game.
