The Long Beach City College women's soccer team took a hit on Tuesday evening against Moorpark College at home on Viking Soccer Field. The Vikings struggled to match Moorpark's intensity on both sides of the pitch and ultimately fell by the final score of 0-5.

Long Beach managed to fired off a mere two shots. Sophomore midfielder Miranda Kaekul (North Hollywood, CA) was responsible for the lone shots, but to no avail. Freshman defender Hannah Nowland (Pico Rivera, CA) and freshman midfielder Alana Rouse (Long Beach, CA) attempted to get the offense going with diligent pursuit of the ball.

Freshman goalkeeper Isabel Lozano (Long Beach, CA) was tagged with the defeat after attempting to handle a potent Moorpark offense that featured 23 shots in the contest. She hauled in eight saves through 90 minutes of work.

The Vikings (4-2) will venture on to face Taft on Friday, September 16 on the road at 12 noon.
