Long Beach Women's Soccer Falls to Cerritos, 0-2

The Long Beach City College women's soccer squad took on Cerritos College on Tuesday evening on the road in another conference matchup. With a tight, first-half battle leaving both teams gridlocked at 0-0, the Vikings could not get any momentum to shift their way as they ultimately fell by the final score of 0-2.

Long Beach had fits on offense as they only fired off five shots in the game. Freshman forward Julianna Carrillo (Long Beach, CA) led the team with three shots, with freshman midfielder Casey Angers (Seal Beach, CA) and sophomore forward Savannah Christensen (Lakewood, CA) each unleashed one blast apiece.

Freshman goalkeeper Ronnie Gonzalez (Lakewood, CA) picked up the loss after hauling in four saves in 90 minutes of action. She displayed some clutch play early in the contest to preserve the early tie by making two saves that what seemed to be sure netters.

The Vikings (6-3-2, 1-1-1 SCC) will return home on Friday, October 7 to face off against ECC Compton at 2 p.m.
