Vikings Remain Undefeated in Conference With Win Against LA Harbor

The women's soccer team earned their third conference win over LA Harbor with a 2-1 victory on Tuesday afternoon at the Viking Soccer Field. The Vikings are undefeated in the South Coast Conference  with a 3-0 record and are 6-3-2 overall.

Freshman goalkeeper Briana Alarcon held down the defense with help from defenders Jessica Ochoa, Maria Vitiello and Aubree Furman. Alarcon had one save with one shot on goal in 90 minutes of primetime.

The Vikings didn't miss a beat as they instantly attacked the Seahawks and scored within the first minute of the game. Freshman forward from Poly High School, Victoria Gonzalez controlled the ball flawlessly as she struck it perfectly past the LA Harbor goalkeeper for the Viking's first goal.

In the 25th minute of the first half, the Seahawks tied the game with an overhead goal from a foul kick. The Vikings came back in the second half and Gonzalez took control offensively again and scored the second goal for Long Beach City College.

The Vikings will play again in their fourth conference game at Cerritos College on Friday, Oct. 10th at 4 p.m.
