Women's Soccer Winning Streak Snapped by Chaffey

The Long Beach women's soccer team fell to the Chaffey College Panthers 2-1 on Friday afternoon at the Viking Soccer Field. Freshman goalkeeper Briana Alarcon from Las Vegas High School shined as the Vikings' defense with four saves on six shots on goal.

The two sides remained scoreless in the first half, but LBCC picked up some steam to kick-off the second half of the game. Freshman midfielder Sophia Barragan came out aggresively and opened the second half with the first goal after a foul on Chaffey.

Chaffey then picked up their endurance and scored two more goals to seal the 2-1 win over the Vikings.

Long Beach women's soccer will play again on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Pasadena City College at 4 p.m.
