Vikings Dominate Compton College in Conference Game

The women's soccer team smashed the Compton College Tartars 7-1 on Tuesday afternoon at Long Beach City College. The Vikings are now 7-6-4 overall and 4-1-1 in conference.

In the first half of the game, freshman midfielder Sophia Barragan was the first to score within the first five minutes.. One minute later, the Tartars responded with a goal from a foul kick near the halfway mark. Freshman forward Victoria Gonzalez finished the half with another goal for Long Beach and with an assist from sophomore defender Savannah Dingman.

Freshman forward Jennifer Delgadillo kicked-off the second half with the third goal for the Vikings. Sophomore midfielder Leighton Smith and sophomore defender Maria Vitiello were next in line to put goals in the back of the cage to bring the score up 5-1.

Sophomore midfielder Casey Angers finished tallying up the scoreboard for the Vikings with two more goals with an assist from freshman defender Mikayla Vaughan.

Briana Alarcon had one save with two shots on goal for the Vikings to round out the defense.

The Vikings will play again on Friday, Nov. 3, at LA Harbor at 2 p.m.
