Women's Soccer Concludes Game Against Rio Hondo With a Draw

The women's soccer team fought hard against the Rio Hondo Roadrunners on Tuesday afternoon, but concluded with 1-1 draw. The Vikings now record 8-6-5 overall and 5-1 in conference.

Sophomore midfielder Casey Angers scored in the first five minutes of the game with a line drive straight to the back of the cage. Rio Hondo was unable to retaliate for a while, until they made their successful move offensively with a shot in the 78th minute to tie the game 1-1.

Freshman goalkeeper Briana Alarcon had a perfect record with five saves with five shots on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Ronnie Gonzalez came into the game to put in the final 36 minutes of work and had two saves for the Vikings.

The women's soccer team will play again in their final home game of the season on Friday, Nov. 9 at 3 p.m.
