Six Women's Soccer Athletes Earn All-SCC Honors

The South Coast Conference (SCC) announced that six Long Beach City College women's soccer athletes were named to the All-SCC south division first and second teams. Freshman defender Jessica Ochoa, freshman forward Victoria Gonzalez and sophomore midfielder Alana Rouse brought in first-team honors, while sophomore defender Savannah Dingman, sophomore midfielder Casey Angers and sophomore defender Aubree Furman earned second-team accolades.

Ochoa started in 16 games this season as the solid unit of defense for the Vikings. Not only was she unbeatable on the backline, but she helped on offense with three shots on goal during the season.

Gonzalez was a force on the field with powering in six goals for Long Beach. During conference, she was a constantly a threat on offense with 19 attempts on goal.

Rouse was the perfect universal player for the Vikings. She performed incredibly on offense and defense as a midfielder. As a second-year veteran for the Vikings, Rouse capped off her Viking career with 33 total game starts. 

Dingman earns recognition with excellent defense on the left side. She was always first for throw-ins and provided top offense when needed with 14 shots this season. 

Angers finished her Viking career as a top midfielder with 35 total game starts, four goals and four assists. Angers was a reliable and skilled player that dominated on first-touches.

Furman was a part of the solid defensive unit on the right side of the field. As the kicking force of the team, she nailed all corner kicks and free passes with precision and accuracy. This season, Furman shined on the field with four goals and five assists.
