Alex has developed a teaching method that is motivational as well as educational to players of all ages and skill levels. His goals are to develop complete soccer players physically, mentally, and emotionally. In addition, Alex provides each player the tools needed in order to excel to a greater competitive level, where they are performing to their maximum potential. To accomplish these goals, he creates a positive environment while promoting the necessity to maintain academics as a primary goal. According to Alex, “nothing attracts success more than a scholastic athlete”.

Alex’s coaching career spans the past 15 years. To say that Alex has been successful would be an understatement, recently evidenced by his selection as the 2002 NIKE Coach of the Year for CYSA-South and the 2004 South Coast Conference Coach of the Year with Long Beach City College. Alex has also coached MLS Professional Soccer Players, Women’s World Cup Players, United States Youth National Team Players and sent players to Division I, II, III & NAIA colleges all over the country with soccer scholarships.

Alex is the son of Oscar Camargo, who played professionally in his native country Argentina. Clearly the same passion, desire, and love for the game has been handed from father to son. During his youth, Alex made his presence felt on the soccer field where he competed at the highest club levels from ages 6 to19, including being selected to the Regional and State Olympic Development Program. Alex continued to play at the collegiate level for Cypress College in 1991 & 1992. After completing his playing career, Alex focused his attention on teaching soccer.
