Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Finish Off Season at State Finals

The Long Beach City College swimming & diving programs capped off their season by competing in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Finals this past weekend and saw some solid results after qualifying for a number of events.

Freshman Samantha Wooley highlighted the Viking's efforts as she placed in the top-10 in two events. She began her inaugural state showing by earning a Console B finish in the 50 Free with a time of 24.86. She continued on to place sixth in the 100 Back with a time of 1:00.05 and seventh in the 100 Free after touching the wall at a mark of 54.65.

Sophomore Aaron Mowl saw his best time come in the 100 Back with a mark of 51.78 to earn him fourth place. He also earned a Consol B finish with a time of 1:53.50 in the 200 Back.

For the men, the Vikings earned 73 points to place 15th overall in state. Wooley earned 34 points alone to see the Vikings to a 25th place finish.
