Long Beach City College snaped a five-match losing streak thanks to a 9-0 South Coast Conference win at Victor Valley College on Thursday. LBCC improved to 2-10 overall and 2-5 in conference play with both victories coming against Victor Valley.

In singles action, the Vikings surrendered just five points to the Rams. Dolores Cervantez at No. 1 (6-1, 6-1), Mimi Mercado at No. 2 (6-0, 6-1), Jasmine Hyacinth at No. 3 (6-0, 6-2), and Maria Gonzalez at No. 4 (6-0, 6-0) all had easy wins. LBCC's Brittany Ruelas and Kelly Zellner picked up wins by default at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

In doubles, Ruelas and Gonzalez at No. 1 had the most competitive match, but beat Victor Valley's team of Paige Jones and Victoria Craig by a final score of 8-6. Cervantez and Zellner won 8-2 at No. 2 while LBCC picked up another win by default at No. 3 doubles.

Long Beach returns to action on Tuesday (Mar. 15) when the Vikings travel to College of the Desert for a 2 p.m. conference match.
