Coming off a 9-0 win last week at Victor Valley College, Long Beach City College couldn't keep the momentum going as the Vikings were on the other end of the sweep falling 9-0 at College of the Desert on Tuesday. The South Coast Conference loss dropped LBCC to 2-11 overall and 2-6 in conference play.

Long Beach totaled 10 points throughout the match. In singles, freshman Brittany Ruelas put up the biggest fight but lost 6-2, 6-2 against COD's Karen Rodas. And in doubles, Ruelas and freshman Maria Gonzalez picked up two points in an 8-2 loss to the Desert duo of Lauren Joy and Diana Cole.

Long Beach is back in action on Thursday (Mar. 17) when the Vikings host Cerritos College in a 2 p.m. conference match.
