Women’s Volleyball: Vikings’ sweep at LA Harbor snaps three-match losing streak

Freshman Alexxis Todd (Lynwood HS) totaled 11 kills to help lead the Long Beach City College women's volleyball team to a 3-0 win at Los Angeles Harbor College on Friday night. The 25-16, 25-14, 25-6 victory snapped a three-match losing streak and improved the Vikings to 4-13 overall and 2-5 in South Coast Conference play.

The Vikings were efficient as a team on Friday as they hit .425 for the night and made just nine attack errors.

Todd added three blocks and had a .579 attack percentage while sophomore Helen Marangos (Santa Fe HS) was even more impressive hitting at a .727 clip. She totaled eight kills on 11 attempts with no errors while adding three blocks and two aces.

Sophomore Rebecca Artiago (Lakewood HS) and freshman Gloria Watson (Immaculate Heart HS) also connected for eight kills while sophomore Selesitina Felise (Sacramento, CA) led LBCC with 29 assists and seven digs.

Long Beach returns to action on Wednesday (Oct. 28) when the Vikings host rival Cerritos College in a 6 p.m. SCC match.
