Head Coach Misty May-Treanor earned her first-career wins on Saturday by taking down Southwestern and San Diego Mesa with ease in the LBCC Tournament in the Hall of Champions Gymnasium. The Vikings defeated Southwestern in three-straight sets (25-14, 25-8, 25-18) and continued on to repeat their success with a straight-set victory over San Diego Mesa (25-20, 25-21, 25-18) to mark a 2-0 start on the season.

Sophomore outside hitter Breanna Torres (Long Beach, CA) and freshman middle blocker Valeria Payan (Pacoima, CA) backed her efforts by firing home seven kills each.

Freshman setter MaryJo McBride (Paradise Valley, AZ) was the main facilitator in the game by dishing out a total of 33 assists to go along with 14 digs and two service aces. Sophomore outside hitter Kassidy Harrington (Anaheim, CA) proved to be effective on her serving by finding the hardwood for five service aces.
