No. 14 LBCC Women's Volleyball Owns Home Hardwood with Commanding Defeat over LA Harbor

The No. 14 Long Beach City College women's volleyball team played host to L.A. Harbor College in conference action on Wednesday. The Vikings were too hot to handle once again by utilizing multiple tactics to take down L.A Harbor in three straight sets by the scores of 25-14, 25-14, and 25-12.

Sophomore outside Breana Torres (Long Beach, CA) proved to be the most powerful option for the Vikings on the night by recording a game-high 13 kills, which is two kills shy of her season best mark. Torres worked for eight digs and assisted on a block. Additionally, she earned a hitting percentage of .480 while making a mere error. She was responsible for 13.5 points on the night.

Sophomore outside Sarah Miller (Long Beach, CA) continued her solid play en route to 10 kills off 19 total attempts for a hitting percentage of .421. She proved to be defensively dynamic by recording a game-high 11 digs. Freshman middle Valeria Payan (Pacoima, CA) manned the middle with efficiency by finding the hardwood eight times and earning two solo blocks.

Most offense was made possible through the 40 assisted dished out by sophomore setter Mary McBride (Paradise Valley, AZ). She earned four kills on the night as well.

Long Beach (8-2, 2-0 SCC) will continue play against Cerritos on the road Friday, September 30 at 6 p.m.
