LBCC Women's Volleyball's Sarah Miller Adds to Hardware with CCCAA All-State Recognition

It was recently announced by the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) that sophomore outside Sarah Miller (Long Beach, CA) was recognized statewide by earning Frist-Team All-State honors following a solid season for the Vikings.

Miller, a Division-I bounce back from California State University Long Beach, made a lasting impact on the Vikings' program by helming the squad to a playoff appearance. While being the top-weapon in the South Coast Conference (SCC), Miller is one of just two SCC-South players to earn All-State recognition.

Recently, Miller was named the SCC South Most Valuable Player by pacing the SCC in kills-per-set (4.89), kills (323), and hitting percentage (.342).

In the CCCAA as a whole, Miller ranks fifth in kills-per-set and hitting percentage (.444). In 20 matches, she has recorded 20+ kills seven times while also displaying a knack for defense by earning 20 digs in three matches while recording six or more digs in all by one match.

In all contests where the Vikings have won, Miller has been the main threat by recording a hitting percentage over .220 for all but one victory. In addition, her well-rounded game has earned her double-digit point earnings in 16 contests throughout the season.

"Although this is awesome, all of the credit goes to my coaching staff and teammates," said Miller on her recognition this season. "I want badly to go far in playoffs and I will use this as motivation."
