No. 4 Volleyball Set to host No. 13 Grossmont in CCCAA SoCal Regionals

The No. 4/6 Long Beach City College women's volleyball team is set to host the No. 13 Grossmont College Griffins (21-5, 7-3) in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern California Regional Playoffs tomorrow, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. in the Hall of Champions.  

Long Beach completed the 2018 season with a 21-3 overall record, placed first in the South Coach Conference South division and are currently ranked No. 6 in the state.

Freshman outside hitter Tylie Johnson ranked second on the conference leaderboard by averaging 3.79 kills per set and totaled 250 kills overall.

Freshman setter Levila Iosua topped the conference leaderboard with averaging 9.07 assists per set.

Grossmont College comes to Long Beach with a thirteenth seed ranking in Southern California. In their last game, they defeated College of the Desert 3-1.

Winners of the first round of the SoCal Regionals will move forward to the second round on Saturday, Nov. 24.
