The Long Beach City College women's volleyball team brought out the brooms on Wednesday evening and swept the Mount San Antonio College Mounties 3-0. With their first South Coast Conference win, the Vikings advance to 6-5 overall and 1-0 in conference action.

The Vikings put their mark on the Mounties by immediately taking control in the first set. Sophomore outside hitter Anisa Lopez was on fire as she nailed 10 kills for the Vikings and smashed three service aces.

Freshman setter Jillian Petnicki was the catalyst behind the ball as she held 22 assists for Long Beach and had one service ace to help advance the Vikings over the Mounties and freshman defensive specialist Celestial Ropati was an asset as she totaled 10 digs to help propel the Vikings to victory.

The Long Beach City College women's volleyball team will return to action on Friday, Sept. 27 at Rio Hondo College in their second conference game of the season at 6 p.m.
