Long Beach Takes Down Cerritos in Three Sets

The Long Beach City College women's volleyball team defeated Cerritos College in a 3-0 sweep on Friday evening by set scores of 25-14, 25-18, 25-17. With the sixth-straight win, the Vikings advance to 9-5 overall and remain undefeated in the South Coast Conference with a 4-0 record.

The Vikings were unstoppable against the Falcons in the Building Q Gym. Freshman outside hitter Tiara Moseby led the team with 14 kills and sophomore opposite Cairon Fido was a threat to the Falcons as she totaled a .458 kill percentage and had ten digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Callissa Candalot was also an offensive force as she smashed ten kills against Cerritos. Sophomore setter Lexi Randolph helped seal the conference victory as she had back-to-back service aces in the final set. She also set a career-high record of 28 assists for the Vikings.

The Vikings will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at East Los Angeles College at 6 p.m.
