Volleyball Names Four Athletes to All-Conference List

The South Coast Conference recently announced that four women's volleyball athletes earned All-Conference recognition for the 2019 season. Sophomore outside hitter Brooke Earkman and freshman libero Celestial Ropati earned First-Team honors, while freshmen middle blockers Callissa Candalot and Kennedy Freeman brought in Second-Team showings.

Earkman took home First-Team accolades, as she was a constant threat to her opponents. She ranked third on the conference leaderboard with 342 kills during the season and averaged 4.02 kills per set. Earkman also led the team with 28 total service aces.  

Ropati is being recognized with First-Team honors for her work as the libero for the Vikings. Ropati ended the season with 384 digs and averaged 4.04 digs per set.

Candalot finished the season with Second-Team honors as she was the leader in the conference with a .340 hitting percentage. Candalot recorded 250 kills and 57 blocks during the season.

Freeman rounded out the All-Conference selections with Second-Team honors. Freeman totaled 107 kills with 63 digs and had 48 blocks.

The Vikings finished the season with a 20-8 overall record and 15-2 in conference action. The Vikings will return to the court next season.
