Volleyball's Lopez and Petnicki Sign National Letters of Intent

The Long Beach City College volleyball team's sophomore outside hitter Anisa Lopez and freshman setter Jillian Petnicki have both signed National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at four-year institutions.

Lopez has signed with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Long Island University (LIU) in Brooklyn, New York to further her volleyball and academic endeavors. This past fall, Lopez averaged 2.87 kills per set for the Vikings with an overall 227 kills. She also garnered 191 digs and had 20 aces during the season. Lopez was a great asset to the Vikings on the court and helped the Vikings earn a playoff berth.

The LIU Sharks are led by sixth-year head coach Ken Ko and compete in the Northeast Conference.

Petnicki has signed with NCAA Division II California State University, East Bay (CSUEB) to continue her academics and athletics. She was second on the South Coast Conference leaderboard with averaging 8.43 assists per set, while totaling 514 on the season. She was also a powerful server for the Vikings with totaling 27 aces.

The CSUEB Pioneers are led by eleventh-year head coach Kimberly Lambert and compete in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
