The Long Beach City College women's water polo team went 3-1 over the weekend and defeated Orange Coast College 10-8 on Saturday in the third-place game of the 17th Annual truWest Battle at the Beach tournament.
On Saturday morning, LBCC suffered an 18-7 loss to Fullerton College in the semifinals. But on Friday, the Vikings earned narrow wins of 10-9 over Cuesta College and 11-10 against Grossmont College to advance to the semis.
The Long Beach women are 16-8 overall and 5-2 in South Coast Conference play. On Wednesday (Oct. 29), LBCC will host Los Angeles Trade-Tech in a SCC game at 3 p.m. before heading to Golden West College for a 7 p.m. non-conference game to close out the regular-season schedule.
