Women’s Water Polo: Long Beach wraps up SCC schedule with 21-4 rout of LA Trade-Tech

Freshman Burdette Forsch scored a game-high eight goals to help lead the Long Beach City College women's water polo team to a 21-4 win over visiting Los Angeles Trade-Tech College on Wednesday's in the Vikings' final South Coast Conference game of the regular season.

Long Beach is now 18-8 overall and 6-2 in conference games. The Vikings return to the pool tonight as they travel to Golden West College for a 7 p.m. non-conference game in their final contest before the postseason.

In Wednesday's blowout, LBCC led 10-0 after the first quarter as Forsch scored six times. Long Beach was up 18-0 at halftime before LA Trade-Tech finally scored with 4:44 to go in the third quarter.

Freshman Cathryn Lynch (Marina HS) added five goals while sophomore Adrienne Alaniz (Wilson HS), and freshmen Ashley Diaz (Esperanza HS) and Angelica Sinay-Gudiel (Poly HS) all scored twice.

Freshman Ayla Collier (Poly HS) posted four saves in goal for the Vikings.
