The Long Beach City College women's water polo team earned its first shutout in the history of the program, which dates back to 1996, as the Vikings closed out the regular season on Wednesday with a 20-0 South Coast Conference win over visiting El Camino College.

LBCC was up 9-0 after the first quarter and held a commanding 14-0 advantage at halftime.

The Vikings' defense totaled 26 steals in the contest and got a game-high four goals each from sophomore Makenna Oberst (Los Alamitos HS/Concordia University-Irvine) and freshman Kennedy Conroy (Millikan HS). Sophomore Cori Reynolds (Poly HS/Long Beach State) led LBCC with eight steals to go with three goals.

Freshman goalie Felicia DePalma (St. Joseph HS) totaled four saves for the Vikings in the historic win.

The LBCC women closed out the conference schedule with a 6-1 mark and are 17-9 overall heading into next week's (Nov. 6-7) SCC Championship tournament at Cerritos.
