Water Polo Returns for Fall 2019

It was yet another successful year for the men's water polo squad in 2018 as they finished the season as the South Coast Conference (SCC) Champions for the second-consecutive year. With their successful season, the SCC announced seven players with All-SCC selections, which included Karlo Krmek as the 2018 SCC Most Valuable Player of the Year. Head Coach Chris Oeding was also honored with the 2018 SCC Men's Water Polo Coach of the Year award as he led the Vikings with 19-9 overall record and 6-1 conference record.

The Vikings will return to the pool on Friday, Sept. 6 in the Golden West Invitational. The first home game will be on Wednesday, Oct. 2 against El Camino College at 4:30 p.m.

The women's water polo team finished with another banner year after a third-consecutive undefeated 8-0 conference record, which included their fourth-consecutive conference crown. The Vikings topped the All-SCC team with six athletes taking home All-Conference honors and Alejandra Villa earning the SCC Most Valuable Player of the Year award.  Oeding was also recognized as the 2018 SCC Coach of the Year for the eighth time.

The Vikings will be back for the 2019 season on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Rio Hondo College at 3 p.m. The Vikings will host their home opener on Wednesday, Oct. 2 against El Camino College at 3:00 p.m.
