Women’s Cross Country: Ceballos leads LBCC with 31st-place finish at Brubaker Invitational

Freshman Alexis Ceballos (Port of Los Angeles HS) ran 21:03.6 and finished in 31st place to lead the Long Beach City College Women's Cross Country team at the Brubaker Invitational at Irvine Regional Park in Orange on Friday.

The Vikings totaled 222 points to finish in ninth place out of 11 squads.

Following Ceballos was freshman Nancylee Perez Lechuga (Warren HS) in 51st place. She cleared the 5K course with a time of 22:39.2. Not far behind was sophomore Melissa Higueros (Compton HS) in 55th at 23:13.7, freshman Karen Silva (Downey HS) in 59th at 23:22.6, and freshman Alexus Quezada (Lakewood HS) in 63rd at 23:42.1.

Long Beach returns to action next Friday (Oct. 17) when it will compete at the Mt. SAC Invitational.
