Women’s Cross Country: Muldrow, Luckey to represent Long Beach at State Championships

Long Beach City College freshman Asia Muldrow (Frederick K.C. Price III Christian HS) and sophomore Sonnaca Luckey (Gahr HS) have both qualified for the State Championships following their finishes at Saturday's Southern California Regional Championship meet at Mission Bay Park in San Diego. As a team, the LBCC women totaled 510 points to finish in 22nd place.

Muldrow led the Vikings for the sixth time in seven meets this season. She ran a personal best time of 20:37.68 on the 5,000-meter course to finish in 53rd place overall. Luckey was up next for the Vikings, clocking in at 21:15.15 to finish 80th.

Glendale Community College cruised to the women's team title with a score of 35 points. Aminat Olowora of Southwestern College ran an impressive 17:01.91 to win the women's individual championship.

The 2015 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Cross Country State Championship is set for November 21 at Woodward Park in Fresno. The women's 5,000-meter race is scheduled for 10 a.m. followed by the men's four-mile event at 11 a.m.
