Long Beach Women's Cross Country Charges to 11th-Place Finish at SoCal Preview

The Long Beach City College women's cross country team continued to impress on Friday as they hit the trails for the SoCal Preview in Santa Ana, CA. The Vikings placed 11th amongst a tough group of competition with sophomore Alexis Ceballos leading the charge.

Cabellos continued to run strong by placing in the top-25. She finished with a total time of 20:06 with an average mile time of 6:28.1 to earn her 23rd overall. Freshman Destiny Diaz followed suit by placing in the top-50 with an overall time of 21:06 to earn her 49th place. 

The rest of the team finished as follows:

Freshman Melissa Higueros - 22:05.1, 94th place
Freshman Lauryn Jones - 22:36.2, 109th place
Freshman Malika Spencer - 22:45.9, 118th place
Freshman Ocean Sandoval - 23:18.6, 126th place
Freshman Deneria Camargo - 23:37.6, 135th place

The Vikings will hit the trails once again on Friday, September 30 to compete in the Santiago Canyon Invitational in Irvine Regional Park, Orange at 10 a.m.
