Long Beach City College Athletics and the California Community College Basketball Coaches Association are teaming up to support the Coaches vs. Cancer program with an evening of fundraising and awareness on Wednesday, Feb. 13. The men's and women's basketball teams will be facing Compton College in a South Coast Conference matchup to take part in a good cause.

The Coaches vs Cancer program is a collaboration between the American Cancer Society and National Association of Basketball Coaches to increase cancer awareness, promote healthy living, fundraising activities and advocacy programs. Since 1993, coaches have raised over $100 million for the American Cancer Society.

The event starts at 3 p.m. at the Hall of Champions with food, drinks and games. The men's team tips-off at 5 p.m., followed by the women's contest at 7 p.m.

Admission will be $5 and additional donations will be accepted during the event. All proceeds collected will be donated the American Cancer Society in support of Coaches vs. Cancer.
