Jeff Evans has served a variety of coaching positions at the community college and high school level. Coach Evans worked as the Special Teams Coordinator (2013-2018) & Running Backs Coach (2013-Current) here at Long Beach City College. During his tenure at LBCC, his RB’s have earned twelve all-conference awards, 2 All-State nominees, and numerous scholarships. The 2014 backs helped lead the Vikings to a national top ranked rushing season. In 2015, RB Darren Johnson rushed for 1,234 yards ranking 4th All-Time at LBCC.

 As Special Teams Coordinator; LBCC had a banner year in 2017 scoring four TD’s from returns; breaking school records in punt returns yardage and in the kicking game.

Prior to LBCC, Evans worked as the Harbor Community College linebacker coach (05-06), Co-Special Teams coordinator (06), and the running backs coach for five seasons (07-10, 12). In that time, the Seahawks had standout performances by all conference RBs (7) and D1 recruits (3) including, John White IV who broke HJC career records in TD’s (41) and rushing yards (2,527) in two seasons of play.

 In addition to coaching football, Evans has held the Co-Head Softball coaching position at LA Harbor College (09-10, 12-13). The Lady Seahawks made the State Playoffs (2010) in just their second season of play. This is not the only sport program that Evans has helped build from scratch.

 Evans has held numerous positions at local Banning High School, including: Current Boys & Girls Wrestling Head Coach (2018-present). This is the first ever wrestling program for BHS and in just the second season, Evans’s Girls Wrestling Team earned numerous honors including 2nd in CIF-City Dual Championships, earned three girls a state bid, and was named Daily Breeze All-Area Team of the Year.

 Other positions he has held include; but are not limited to: Head Track & Field Coach (03), Head Football Coach (04), and Athletic Director (2005-06). Evans currently is employed by LAUSD and Banning High School as a Firefighter Magnet Social Science educator (2001-present).

 Prior to moving to Long Beach, California in 2001, Evans coached a variety of other sports in Nebraska high schools; including assistant coach for the 8-man Overton Eagles (1999).

 Evans is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska, and graduated from the University of Nebraska Kearney in 1999. He received his Master of Science in 2010 from Azusa Pacific University. 

Evans played outside linebacker at Midland College, Fremont, NE (1994). He and his wife, Louisa are proud parents of three energetic kids, Payton(12), daughter Aleena(10), and Tycen Evans (3).
