The Long Beach City College men's soccer team won its second straight, as the Vikings picked up a 1-0 South Coast Conference win at Los Angeles Harbor College on Friday.

In a battle where both teams were struggling to find their offensive drive, sophomore Andrew Geber (Palos Verdes HS) came up with an opportunistic goal in the final five minutes to get the win for LBCC.  After sophomore Joel Atilano (Artesia HS) dribbled through four defenders, he poked the ball to Geber, who one timed his shot in the goal from four yards out.

Long Beach dominated time of possession during the contest, but was unable to put the ball away when reaching the final third.  Sophomore Kristian Saravia (Downey HS) had the two best chances in the first half, but his first attempt of the contest from 10 yards out was saved by Harbor goalkeeper Brian Hernandez, and his second shot from 25 yards out, went just wide of the open net.

Long Beach also had two break-away opportunities in the second half, but was unable to finish either one.  Harbor had put one off of the crossbar in the first half, and had multiple free kick opportunities, but were unable to get the ball by Long Beach freshman goalkeeper Connor Fatone (Los Alamitos HS).

The win brings the team's overall record to 6-4-1 and 2-2-0 in conference play.  The men will be looking for their third consecutive conference win on Tuesday (Oct. 13) when they play at 6 p.m. at Mt. San Antonio College.
