Men’s Soccer Defeats San Diego City 2-1

The Long Beach City College men's soccer team defeated the San Diego City College Knights 2-1 on Friday afternoon at home. With the win, the Vikings advance to 3-5 overall.

Sophomore starting goalkeeper Mario DeLaTorre had one save against the Knights in 90 minutes of work.

The Vikings were off to a great start as freshman midfielder Christian Lemus slammed the first goal in the back of the Knights' net with help from freshman forward Cameran Badal and sophomore midfielder Alexander Moreno.

Then freshman midfielder Javier Cervantes popped one in the top righthand corner with the assist coming from Badal to lead San Diego City College 2-0.

The Knights came back in the second half with a goal, but it wasn't enough to stop the Vikings ad Long Beach came out on top with the 2-1 win.

The Long Beach City College men's soccer team will compete again on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at San Bernardino Valley College at 4 p.m.
