Men’s Cross Country: Iraheta paces Vikings at SoCal Preview meet

Long Beach City College freshman Brandon Iraheta (Warren HS) ran 21:50.6 to finish in 76th place to lead the Vikings at the Southern California Preview meet on Friday morning at Woodley Park in Van Nuys.

As a squad, Long Beach finished in 19th place out of 29 teams with a 562 points.

Freshman Daniel Lewis (Heartland Christian HS) was next for Long Beach, finishing in 101st place with a time of 22:10.0 on the four-mile course. Not far behind was freshman Christian Jezina (San Pedro HS) at 22:18.0 in 109th place.

Mt. San Antonio College won the men's team title with 53 points while College of the Canyons' Rodrigo Ornelas was the top individual, finishing the course with a time of 20:11.4.

Long Beach returns to action next Friday (Sep. 26) when it will compete at the Golden West Central Park Classic in Huntington Beach.
