Consecutive errors by Long Beach City College to open the top of the fourth inning led to three Cerritos College runs as the Vikings suffered a 3-1 South Coast Conference loss to the visiting Falcons on Tuesday.

Long Beach (10-11, 3-6 SCC) outhit Cerritos 8-3, but managed just one run in the bottom of the sixth. Sophomore Briana Alvarez (Montebello HS) came in to score on a single by sophomore Erika Balboa (Gahr HS) for the Vikings' lone run.

Sophomore Brooke Loard (Millikan HS) pitched well despite taking the loss. She allowed three unearned runs and just three hits as her record fell to 4-7.

Camille Manzo drove in two runs with her two-out single to cap the three-run Cerritos (18-5, 8-1 SCC) rally.

Long Beach returns to action on Thursday (Mar. 17) when the Vikings travel to El Camino College Compton Center for a 2:30 p.m. SCC game.
