The No. 2 Long Beach City College softball team extended their winning-streak to five consecutive games with their 3-2 conference win over El Camino on Tuesday afternoon.

Sophomore pitcher Daisy Torres (7-2) was unstoppable in the dirt as she held the Warriors to only two runs on five hits, while striking down three in seven innings.

The Warriors had an RBI single in the top of the third and then hit an RBI double to score another and lead the Vikings 2-0.

Then the Vikings bounced back in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run to right field from freshman catcher Jaylene Ross to only trail El Camino by one.

Still in the fourth, sophomore right fielder Noelany Benitez smashed a homer to center field for 2 RBI and take the 3-2 lead and the win for the Vikings.

The Long Beach City College softball team will play against on Thursday, Feb. 24 at Mt. San Antonio College at 4 p.m.
