The Long Beach City College Track & Field program has completed the regular season and will now move on the South Coast Conference (SCC) Conference Championships to be held at El Camino College this Tuesday, April 25th. Both the men and women look to continue a solid season with multiple athletes landing in the top-30 in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) scene.

Highlighting the bunch for the Vikings is sophomore Bayron Manuel who leads the CCCAA in the 110 M Hurdles with a time of 14.34. His time is three one-hundredths better than the second-place finisher. He earned this mark at the Cerritos Opener in late February. Freshman Mitchell M'Sai is ranked 15th in the state in the 400M with a solid mark of 51.11 at the 39th Annual Aztec Open in late March. He is just one second off breaking into the top-10.

Freshman Keshawn Wright has performed well in two specific events and has found himself in the top-20 in both. He currently ranks 11th in the 100M dash with a mark of 11.08 at the Cal State L.A. meet in mid-April. He also landed at T-20th in the state in the 200M with a time of 22.92 at the Northridge Invitational in mid-March. Freshman Bradford Ferguson is tied with Wright for in the 200M with identical times – his came at the Cerritos Invite in early April.

Freshman tandem Patrick Washington and Manuel Gomez finished fifth and sixth, respectfully, in the 400M Hurdles. Washington holds approximately a two-second edge over Gomez with a time of 54.89, while Gomez earned a 56.49 mark.

Freshman Gerardo Salazar handles the distance running for the Vikings men by ranking in the top-30 in four events. He is ranked 17th in both the 3000M (9:07.88) and the 5000M (15:56.28) with both times coming at separate Cerritos Invites. Furthermore, he is ranked 20th in the 1500 with a time of 4:21.03 at the 39th Annual Aztec Open and 30th in the 800M with a mark of 2:03.36 at the Cal State L.A. meet.

Freshman Seayanna Crawford leads the women as she is ranked top-30 in three events. Her 11th-place ranking in the 400M highlight her times as she earned a mark of 1:01.24 at the Occidental Distance Invite in early March. She backs her efforts with a 13th-ranked time in the 400M Hurdles at 1:12.59. Additionally, she lands in the top-25 in the Long Jump with a mark of 13' 4.25" (4.07m) to earn her 24th-place.

Freshman Aaliyah Abdulrahmaan is ranked 14th in the 100M with a solid time of 12.71. She lands just seven one-hundredths of a second out of the top-10. Freshman Veronica Mendez follows with a time of 13.01 to earn 23rd overall. The pair also rank back-to-back in the 200M with Mendez placing 25th overall with a time of 26.73 and Abdulrahmaan earning a time of 26.74 for 26th overall.

Freshman Lauryn Jones has had a strong inaugural season by earning four top-30 rankings highlighted by a 13th overall mark in the 1500M with a time of 5:12.22. She ranks 14th overall in the 800M with a time of 2:26.76, followed by a time of 12:26.62 to earn her 18th overall. She caps her top-30 finishes with a 24-ranking in the 400M at a time of 1:05.93.

Freshman Nicole Ramirez highlights the throwers by placing ninth in the Discus Throw with a distance of 113' 9" (34.65m). She has performed well in the Hammer Throw as well by earning a mark of 104' 5" (31.83m) to earn a 11th overall ranking. Furthermore, she ranks 14th in the Shot Put with a mark of 32' 11" (10.03m) and 21st in the Javelin with a distance of 83' 9" (25.52m).
