Former California State University, Fullerton men's soccer assistant coach Jorge Reyes was tabbed as Interim Director of Soccer Operations, starting his stint on July 1, 2021.

"We are excited to welcome Jorge to LBCC as Interim Director of Soccer Operations," LBCC Athletic Director Randy Totorp said. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and has been successful at every level, including as a player. And it also again shows the amazing support we have received from the college and administration to add this additional full-time position to our department."

During his six years with the Titans, Reyes helped lead the men's soccer team to two Big West Tournament titles, three tournament appearances, and to as high as a No. 12 national ranking. Additionally, he helped develop a number of student-athletes who have gone on to play professionally.

Prior to joining Fullerton in 2015, Reyes was an assistant coach at Golden West College from 2011-13.

Before beginning his coaching career at the collegiate level, Reyes served as an assistant coach for third division Atlante in Mexico from 2007-09. He also has been the head coach for the CDA Slammers youth team in Huntington Beach since 2015, as well as assisting the girls' varsity soccer team at Westminster High School.

Reyes' played for the OC Pateadores in the PDL for two years before heading overseas to play for first division Kaposvar Rakoczi in Hungary from 2013-14. He began his collegiate soccer career at Yavapai College in Arizona before transferring to Santa Ana College. He then transferred to UC Irvine under head coach George Kuntz, while playing alongside assistant coach Carlos Aguilar in 2009, where he led the Anteaters to back-to-back Big West Championships and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Reyes earned a bachelor's degree in research and social policy from UC Irvine in 2013, followed by a master's in sociology from Cal State Fullerton in 2018. He hails from a soccer family. His brother played at UCLA and for the United States Men's National Beach Soccer Team, while his sister also plays at UCLA and for the Mexican Women's National Soccer Team.
