Maureen O'Toole, who participated on the men’s water polo team in 1979 and holds five school records in women’s swimming. After just one year with LBCC she transferred to the University of Hawaii, where she was a three-year All-American. She earned a silver medal for the U.S. women’s water polo team in the 2000 Olympics and has been named 16 times as U.S. National Championships most valuable player. O’Toole was honored in 1996 and 1997 as the national collegiate coach of the year.
