Long Beach City College freshman outfielder Yulissa Dominguez (Santa Fe HS) was named to the All-Southern California postseason team while Dominguez and three others earned All-South Coast Conference honors following the Vikings' 2016 season.

Dominguez was joined by sophomore pitcher Brooke Loard (Millikan HS) on the All-SCC first team list. Sophomore catcher Mariah Jacobo (La Serna HS) earned second-team honors while freshman third baseman/outfielder Daisy Velasquez (Bellflower HS) was an honorable mention selection.

Dominguez had an impressive first season for the Vikings as she led the squad with a .406 batting average. She totaled 41 hits, scored 31 runs, and stole 13 bases. In 21 conference games, she hit .451 (23 for 51), had 23 hits, and scored 15 runs.

Loard started 26 of LBCC's 43 games while appearing in 35 overall. She compiled a 13-14 record with a 3.46 earned run average. She tossed 17 complete games and struck out 161 batters over 194 innings pitched.

Jacobo was likely the Vikings' most improved player from last season. She clubbed a team-high five home runs and led LBCC with 39 RBI. She totaled 41 hits and walked 16 times compared to just eight strike outs.

Velasquez also put up big numbers in her first season with the Vikings. She hit .379 on the year with a team-high .573 slugging percentage. She banged out 47 hits including 14 for extra bases (7 2B, 4 3B, 3 HR). Velasquez had 31 RBI, scored 37 runs, and walked 18 times.

Under first-year head coach Megan Martinez, LBCC made its first postseason appearance since 2011. The Vikings defeated Bakersfield College in a SoCal play in game, but was swept by No. 1 seed Cypress College in a regional playoff series. The Vikings closed the year with a 23-20 overall record and finished fourth in the South Coast Conference at 12-9.
