This past weekend, the Vikings Track & Field squad traveled over to UCLA for the Jim Bush "Legends" Invitational.
On the men's front, Justin Auston powered through to grab fourth in the 400 meters, clocking in at 49.18. Joshua Jung surged to a fourth-place finish in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:12.45, while Roosevelt Grier soared to fourth in the high jump, marking 1.81 meters. Lueke Chibueze flew across the finish line to clinch gold in the 800 meters, recording a swift 1:59.82.
Switching lanes to the women's team, Frida Hernandez surged to third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:37.77, while Mia Jamerson leaped to third in the triple jump with a distance of 11.04 meters. Amareah Hamilton hurdled her way to fourth place in the 100 hurdles, clocking in at 14.75 seconds, and Aniyah Wyche sprinted to sixth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.34 seconds.
The Vikings will be back on the track for the South Coast Conference Prelims at El Camino College on April 23rd.
