LBCC will be making its third straight postseason appearance under fourth-year head coach Michael Anderson.

Mt. San Jacinto earned a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference title with a 12-2 record and enter Saturday's game with a 23-6 overall mark. Sophomore forward Cora Lopez leads the Eagles, averaging a double-double with 12.7 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. Chris Mozga is in his ninth season as head coach at Mt. San Jacinto.

Saturday's game will be the first meeting of the season between Long Beach and Mt. San Jacinto. The winner will advance to face either No. 4 Pasadena City College or No. 13 College of the Canyons in a third-round game. Three wins are needed to advance to the CCCAA Basketball State Championships on March 14-16 at Cerritos College.
