No. 13 Women’s Basketball to Host No. 7 Mt. San Antonio College in their First Home Game

The No. 13 Long Beach City College women's basketball team is set to host No. 7 Mt. San Antonio College for their first home game of the season on Friday, Jan. 7 in the Hall of Champions. Currently, the Vikings are ranked No. 13 in the state and No. 7 in Southern California with an 11-4 overall record.

So far this season, the Vikings have boasted themselves in tournaments, with some highlights such as a 127-41 win over San Bernardino Valley, 100 field goal attempts against Barstow, totaling 83 rebounds against LA Trade Tech and beating Ventura in their home court.

The Vikings are currently fifth in the state for averaging 79.4 points per game, third in the state for averaging 53.3 rebounds and 18.6 assists per game, and fourth in the state for averaging 5.1 blocks per game.

In their last meeting with the Mounties (12-3) on Dec. 9, the Vikings fell 89-71. Sophomore wing Navi Huskey scored 29 points and totaled 12 rebounds. Currently Huskey is third on the state leaderboard with averaging 14.1 rebounds per game.

The spectator policy for Long Beach City College home games is still in effect. Spectators are welcome to attend all indoor home contests on a first-come, first served basis. The following guidelines will be observed: 25% capacity, proof of online health screening and masks are required.
