Women’s Basketball Suffers Tough Loss to Cerritos

The No. 17 women's basketball team fell to the Cerritos College Falcons 57-62 in the Hall of Champions on Wednesday evening. With the loss, the Vikings drop to 12-6 overall and 1-1 conference play.

The Vikings opened the game leading the Falcons 16-10 in the first quarter and 14-13 in the second quarter. After halftime, the Falcons stepped up their game and dominated the Vikings 24-16, then out shot them 15-11 in the fourth quarter to take the 62-57 win.

Freshman wing Aaliyah Carter had a game with the double double of 19 points and 14 rebounds. She was unstoppable for the Vikings as she was all over the rim. Sophomore center Ivori Scott also shined in the key for the Vikings as she hit the double double as well with 19 points and 14 rebounds.

The Vikings will be back on the court on Friday, Jan. 28 at Compton College at 7 p.m.
