Viking Advance in SoCal Diving Championships

Last Friday, the Vikings hosted the SoCal Diving Championships, featuring men's and women's 1m and 3m dives.

On the women's side, Dani Sgontz took 17th place, scoring a total of 108.1 points. Kaelani Roudabush secured 6th place with 181.65 points, while Katie Juarez claimed 3rd place on the podium with 198.60 points.

In the intense 3m championships, Roudabush captured 8th place with a score of 136.80, while Juarez dominated with a first-place finish, scoring an impressive 222.05. Both Roudabush and Juarez will be moving forward to the State Championships at Orange Coast College on May 2.

Andrew Lambert also made waves, clinching a third-place finish in the men's 1m championship, boasting a score of 158.95. He too will advance to the state championships.

"Our LBCC Divers showed off what they have been training for and it paid off," said Director of Aquatics Bradley Adamson. "Their points scored put us in a strong position leading into the Conference Championship next week. Coach Butler has done a great job this season by shaping each diver to be the best they can be. We are excited for what's to come at the State Championship for our three divers who qualified!"
