Men’s Water Polo: Vikings rack up 18 postseason honors, ready for State Semifinals on Friday

The Long Beach City College men’s water polo team earned 18 postseason honors highlighted by freshman Giorgio La Rosa (Catania, Italy) and interim head coach Dave Kasa. But this weekend, LBCC looks to add some hardware to the trophy case as the Vikings are just two wins away from a state championship.

LBCC won its third straight South Coast Conference championship and 13th over the past 15 years.

The Long Beach City College men's water polo team wrapped up its regular-season schedule with a 21-0 shutout victory over visiting El Camino College on Wednesday. The Vikings went a perfect 6-0 in South Coast Conference play and take an 18-4 overall record into the postseason.

Long Beach City College freshman Giorgio La Rosa (pictured) had a game-high five goals in the Vikings’ 18-5 rout over visiting Chaffey College on Wednesday at LBCC. With the South Coast Conference win, the Vikings remain unbeaten in SCC play at 4-0 and improved to 10-2 overall.
