Former Vikings Basketball Coach Gary Anderson to be Honored at the 37th Annual Golf Tournament

The 2022 LBCC Foundation Athletics Associates 37th Annual Golf Tournament would like to recognize Gary Anderson as this year's honoree.

Anderson closed his Long Beach City College head coaching career after 18 seasons in 2010 with a 378-212 overall record (.641 winning percentage) and is the college's all-time winningest coach. During his tenure, Anderson guided seven of his teams to South Coast Conference championships and took 15 of his 18 teams to the playoffs. His 1994 team compiled a 32-6 record and won the school's sixth state title and first since Bill Frasier's team claimed the state's top honor in 1976. By winning the state title, Anderson became the first person in California history to win state championships as a player, an assistant, and head coach at the same institution.
