Vaielua and Allen Crowned SCC Pairs Champions, Vikings Qualify Two Pairs to Regionals
Enaya Vaielua and Tyreana Allen were crowned the 2025 SCC Pairs Champions.
The Long Beach City College beach volleyball team turned in a strong performance at the South Coast Conference (SCC) Pairs Championships over the weekend at El Camino College, highlighted by a title run from Enaya Vaielua and Tyreana Allen, who were crowned the 2025 SCC Pairs Champions.
Vaielua and Allen battled through a tough bracket to earn the title, starting with a hard-fought three-set win over Mt. SAC in the second round (25-27, 21-14, 15-12). The duo continued their dominance with straight-set wins in the quarterfinals over Cerritos (21-19, 21-17) and in the semifinals against El Camino (21-17, 21-19). In the championship showdown, the Viking pair outlasted Mt. SAC's top duo 21-17, 18-21, 17-15 to claim the crown.
Also making a strong showing were Kaylani Moncada and Mikayla Curry, who picked up a solid second-round victory over Cerritos (21-16, 21-14) before falling in the quarterfinals. The pair bounced back to win the SCC Consolation Championship with a convincing 21-10, 21-14 win over another Cerritos pair, securing their spot at the upcoming Pairs Regionals.
Ryleeh Tuaolo/Camille Agrupis, Maggie Acevedo/Alanna Jones, and Ryannah Gagau/Alexandra Rosquin all competed valiantly in early-round action but were edged out in tightly contested matches.
With their top two pairs advancing, the Vikings will now prepare for the Pairs Regionals at Mt. San Antonio College on Friday, May 2.
