Men's Basketball: Edwards goes for 37 points in LBCC season-finale win
Sophomore Ashton Edwards (pictured) scored a career-high 37 points in his final game as a Viking to lead Long Beach City College to a 97-82 win over El Camino College on Friday night at the LBCC Hall of Champions Gym.

Sophomore Tyler Tuliau added 20 points and 8 rebounds, while freshman Mwelu Matayu had 12 rebounds.

Long Beach held a commanding 55-28 advantage at halftime before El Camino slowly chipped away in the second. The Warriors got within eight points (86-78) with 3:28 left after a Brandon Boyd layup. But Edwards continued his dominance by scoring the Vikings' next nine points to seal the victory.

LBCC nailed 11 three-pointers in the contest, including five by Edwards.
El Camino (8-16, 4-9 SCC) was led by Joshua Wilson's 23 points and 7 rebounds.

Long Beach closes the season with an 11-16 overall record and 6-7 mark in the South Coast Conference. The Vikings are not expected to earn a spot in the Southern California playoffs.
