Long Beach City College's surge to a 12-4 overall record has finally caught the attention of state-wide coaches as the Vikings are currently ranked No. 11 in this week's California Community College Men's Basketball Coaches Association (CCCMBCA) State Poll.

LBCC has won four straight games including nine of its last 10 contests. Last week, the Vikings picked up South Coast Conference victories against Los Angeles Trade-Tech College (76-72) and El Camino College (68-55). Long Beach is on the road this week, playing at Los Angeles Harbor College on Wednesday and at rival Cerritos College on Friday.

Saddleback College (19-1), the last team to defeat the Vikings, is ranked No. 1 in this week's state poll, followed by Fresno City College (17-3) and conference foe Mt. San Antonio College (15-1). Long Beach is also ranked No. 6 in this week's Southern California poll.
